“After Irma” has been juried into the first ever call for Art to be featured in the National Climate Assessment (NCA), put out by the US Global Change Research Program. My painting can be viewed on the Assessment website: http://nca2023.globalchange.gov. To quote from my acceptance letter:
“While the NCA has always been the preeminent report on climate change, Art & Climate will add a critical new dimension: elevating the perspectives of artists, evoking reckoning and hope, and bringing more people into the climate conversation. Your work is extremely important and helps the issue of climate change reach the hearts and minds of the American public. The inclusion of your work in the National Climate Assessment demonstrates what is possible when artists and scientists collaborate. “
I am very proud to be included in this venture and am continuing to work on my Climate Change Series of paintings with increased impetus.
